above that house black bear, many moose, who daily visit the pond and surrounding ''Moose Track Meadow'', our resident woodpecker, the elusive rarely sighted lynx , the very occasional brown bear, porcupines, and a variety of wild birds, including the high soaring eagle.
Winter time offers majestic fresh snow ideal for cross-country skiing, snow
angels, snowshoe hiking, and energy permitting; you may hike up to the hill above for a fun run of skiing or snow boarding. |

Legendary winds sweep refreshing ionized gusts through our
mountain peaks. They whoosh around Our Ship like Building designed specifically for these local conditions. No need to be concerned, however enthralling, with winds occasionally up to 90 mph.
Enjoy the Unforgettable power of nature from your warm room or
the Vortex Lounge.
These wildest winds seem to occur one to two times every four to six
weeks. However, changing weather patterns have us surprised year round! We welcome you to witness Mother Nature's radical force from our Aawesome Retreat. |

Sunsets over Cook Inlet are visible year round from Our Vortex Lounge and Our Family Sunset Suite Upstairs.
Alaska's Mystical Northern lights, Stars & Planets dazzle us regularly from August to April as no city lights are
near. Our moon is Seasonally more amazing from this vantage point as it appears to rise directly over the mountains above us.
Due to Alaska's unique global positioning, the sun & moon rise in a different place every morning.
The breathtaking sunset over south Anchorage borders the inlet and distant mountains. Beautiful distant
evening lights, 9-12 miles as the crow flies, appears as a galaxy in the distance from the guests ''Vortex Lounge'' or 2nd story deck.
